Art & Science Exhibit

Marine and coral reef scientists from across Germany displayed their works in photography and art, presenting the precious and fragile marine biodiversity of our blue planet. The first exhibition of our photo & art collection was in collaboration with the Helmholtz Institute for Functional Marine Biodiversity at the University of Oldenburg (HIFMB) and the Schlaues Haus in Oldenburg, Northern Germany.

Meeres- und Korallenriff-Wissenschaftler aus ganz Deutschland stellen ihre fotografischen und künstlerischen Arbeiten aus, welche die kostbare und fragile marine Artenvielfalt unseres blauen Planeten präsentieren. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Helmholtz-Institut für Funktionelle Marine Biodiversität an der Universität Oldenburg (HIFMB) und dem Schlauen Haus in Oldenburg, Norddeutschland.

Winner of the ICRS 2022 Photography Competition

One of my photos from beautiful RAJA AMPAT, INDONESIA was awarded a price! It captures a Harlequin sweetlip (Plectorhinchus chaetodonoides) as it was hiding behind a school of Ribboned Sweetlips (Plectorhinchus polytaenia).

I really enjoyed taking this photograph. I remember having ended up with several dozens of shots of these bright yellow fish on my SD card! You will find a larger version of this photo further below in my gallery.
